Almost all political parties in Catalonia (with the exception of PP and Ciutadans) support the initiative. Trade unions and employers, together with many other social sectors in addition to the Catalan Association of Universities, Public and professional associations. Sports clubs like Barca, Espanyol, cultural institutions such as Omnium Cultural and different federations and Catalan associations TAMIB adhere to the request.
El Mundo, La Razón and ABC are the newspapers forcefully rejecting what they describe as "Constitutional pressure" and defended the unity of Spain and the Constitution. The country also devotes part of its editorial to the Catalan press, criticizing the "pressure" that the initiative refers to in the TC.
Entitled "The dignity of the Spanish (including at least 2.7 million Catalans)," the newspaper El Mundo mimics the title of the Catalan newspaper's editorial but to attack the initiative.
