Barceloneta and Sant Sebastià to get more ‘summer toilets’

Officials responsible for the Ciutat Vella district of Barcelona have raised the possibility of there being around 25 new public toilets opened in the Barceloneta area of the city. The new facilities, which will only remain open for use during the summer months, are being considered in response to the number of people in the area ‘answering the call of nature’ in city streets. In total, the building of some 57 new public toilet facilities is being considered, around half of them in and around the beaches of Barceloneta and Sant Sebastià. Plans to make available toilet facilities within public buildings, civic centres, car parks, markets and museums are also under consideration.
