A collector donates the last portrait painted by Spanish painter Salvador Dalí to a Russian museum.

"This is a lithograph of the number of angels under the name 'Face' dedicated to Gala, which was painted a year and a half before his death," the Ministry of Culture of tartar said in a statement, according the official news agency RIA -Novosti.

The last portrait from the Spanish painter Salvador Dalí of his lover and muse, Gala, was given today by the Russian collector, Alexander Shadrin, to a museum in the Russian republic of Tatarstan.

"This is a lithograph of the number of angels under the name 'Face' dedicated to Gala, which was painted a year and a half before his death," the Ministry of Culture of tartar said in a statement, according the official news agency RIA -Novosti.

According to the collector, the note adds, "This was the last work that the Muse of the Spanish genius is represented, whose real name was Yelena Diakonov and who was born in Kazan, capital of Tatarstan.

Shadrin kept secret that the cost of lithography, and decided to give the piece to the State Museum of Fine Arts of Tatarstan.

The museum is currently hosting an exhibition on the Catalan surrealist painter which includes 70 works from the private collection of Shadrin, including the lithograph "Woman-Flowers" that hung for several years in Dali's bedroom.

Gala, who was born in Kazan in 1894, she met Dalí in Spain in 1929.
