Catalonia is not Spain: UEFA may sanction FC Barcelona over banners

From Spain Herald: ‘UEFA to consider closing Camp Nou’ | “The large, professionally-prepared banners with the slogan "Catalonia is not Spain" exhibited in FC Barcelona's Camp Nou stadium at the March 7 Champions' League match against Chelsea may prove expensive to Barça.

The UEFA has begun a disciplinary investigation, and possible sanctions range from a fine to the closing of the stadium for one match.

The UEFA representative's report on the match described the unveiling of the banners as "an action unrelated to sports, constituting disobedience of the general principles of behavior established in the official rules."”

The banner seems very unnecessary. I'm guessing it would just promote violence between fans, as opposed to help the sport in any way whatsoever.
