Montilla describes CiU, ERC appeal to maragallistas in the PSC as ridiculous

After a number of days during which the Catalan nationalist parties the Convergència i Unió (CiU) and Esquerra Republicana de Catalunya (ERC) have attempted to attract the voting support of Partit dels Socialistes de Catalunya (PSC) followers identifying themselves with out-going leader Pasqual Maragall, the Socialist candidate José Montilla for the Generalitat presidency publicly qualified the nationalist and republican pretensions as ‘purely and simply ridiculous.’

Montilla’s reaction was especially centred on his main adversary in the forthcoming elections, the CiU leader Artur Mas. He reminded Mas that it was he - who is now appealing to the ‘maragallistas’ of the PSC - who had so constantly attacked Maragall and his followers beforehand.
