Gas Natural is set to invest over 500 million euro constructing an energy facility with two power plants in Barcelona, Spain. This new construction project is part of a plan to bring increased energy efficiency through the electric system. The plant is expected to begin full commercial operation by the year 2010.

According to Gas Natural, the project already has the full planning permission from the Spanish Department of Industry, permission which includes administrative authorization and environmental permits from the Generalitat of Catalonia.
