Barcelona once again becomes a meeting point for professionals in the textile and fashion industry. The Salón Textil Internacional de Barcelona (STIB) returns to the emblematic neoclassical building, la Casa Llotja de Mar, from the 16th to the 19th of March, providing professionals not only a stunning place to work but a space marked by incomparable art and history.
STIB, borne more than 15 years, the result of the union of diverse initiatives, has in the last four years consolidated its presence twice a year in an indispensable date for designers and buyers of the most important firms in Spain, many recognized for their creativity and dynamism.
This year, STIB will host 37 exhibitors, among them Arcana 97, Blau Dominichelli, Ibercloth, Quindi, and Texlook and expect more than 1,300 visitors among them important designers Angel Schlesser, Antonio Miró, David Delfín, Josep Font, Konrad Muhr and design teams from multi-national firms such as Burberry, Massimo Dutti, Mango, and Zara.
Local Catalan designers reaffirm the importance of this event:
Josep Font: “I’m delighted with the Salón, it was really time to have a Salón like this, and in this marvelous space; it’s really very pleasant to work here since normally fairs are so exhausting.”
Antonio Miró: “It’s a very comfortable Salón because people who can’t go to Premiere Vision perfectly solve the problem with this Salón. We take the opportunity to get the latest trends in fabrics and accessories that we’re missing to complete our collections.”
Josep Abril: “For me it’s so important. Also, I’m seeing designers and groups of buyers from all over Spain, something that hadn’t happened in a long time. For us it’s such a convenience. I prefer to work here than in the studio.”
