I want to congratulate all FC Barcelona fans on their exemplary behaviour in the build up to the LFC Vs FCB match at Anfield the other week. I would also like to commend them on their gracious sportsmanship in defeat.
The people of Liverpool would welcome you all back with open arms any time in the future. The attendees at the match and other Barça supporters in and around our city during that time were an absolute credit to your fine city.
It is especially refreshing at a time when the behaviour of footballers and football fans has been in the news for all the wrong reasons. If all football fans behaved in the manner of the Barcelona supporters, the game would be far richer for it.
