300 people close the N-11 near Premia de Mar in protest over the roads condition
The protesters occupied the road in both directions shortly after 1200 hours and ended an hour later claim the Catalan Traffic Service (SCT).
The N-11 is principal highway in Catalunya and was closed to traffic for over an hour as protesters occupied the road, to highlight the condition of the road and over the unacceptable high percentage of lethal accidents that had deemed the area a ‘black spot’.
The protesters occupied the road in both directions shortly after 1200 hours and ended an hour later claim the Catalan Traffic Service (SCT).
Today the third anniversary of the death of the then Mayor Premià, Jaume Batlle (CiU), who at only 51 died in a traffic accident on the N-II, when he was hit by a car while riding his motorcycle. Batlle was one of the most active mayors in the reporting of road accidents.
