Arrested two suspected ETA members in Girona and third one sought
Adur Aristegi Aragon was "linked" with former the "number one" of the band Jurdan Martitegi, arrested in France on 19 April last year, and former chief of the Vizcaya Arkaitz Goikoetxea.
Police yesterday arrested, during a routine check, two people for alleged links with ETA in a border crossing near Camprodon (Girona), when trying to cross into French territory with a Renault van owned by the father of one of them . The two suspected ETA members are Adur Aristegui Aragon, Jon Rosales Palenzuela, reported sources close to the investigations. In addition, the National Police and Civil Guard are searching for another suspected ETA member also in Catalunya.
Adur Aristegi Aragon was "linked" with former the "number one" of the band Jurdan Martitegi, arrested in France on 19 April last year, and former chief of the Vizcaya Arkaitz Goikoetxea.
The detention occurred when police intercepted them at a checkpoint in the border town of Molló, a kilometre from the French border, and have identified one as a wanted person after fleeing an Civil Guard anti-terrorism operation.
The two arrested, who were unarmed when they were detained at the border crossing, located in the Coll d'Ares, were in a van and did not carry weapons or explosives. The ETA suspects, who were going to France, had their real identification along with one false documentation. Both were transferred to Madrid.
