Catalan universities, next year, offer 541 degrees and 600 master’s tailored to the EHEA

The Government intends to strengthen the vocational guidance of students through portals such as Unidata-an initiative that transpires all indicators of the system and a program that encourages engineering studies.

Catalan universities, next year, will offer 541 degrees and 600 master's tailored to the European Higher Education Area (EHEA).

From the 330 degrees already offered in Catalunya, the number will grow to 541, while Masters will go from 450 to 600.

The new degrees will focus especially in fields related to the health sector and social service professionals. So, the increase will strengthen social work degrees, Psychology, Nursing and Physiotherapy, also revised are the places offered from public money as there is currently an imbalance in favour of private provision. For its part, the minister of Education, Ernest Maragall, announced that students from the previous school years may make their college choice with the 101 psychologists and education specialists that the Government will put at their disposal. These professionals also provide personal attention to students who choose a non-university post-compulsory teaching such as vocational training (FP) or professional teaching (art and music). In fact, the latter can see what the new Institute of the Arts will offer.
