Cinemas in Girona to emphasize alternative entertainment
Girona cinemas will debut with the idea of programming preferably "Catalan, Spanish and European original versions dubbed into Catalan" said Francesc Felipe.
Girona Cinemas open their doors tonight with the intent of planning "something more than cinema" and a commitment to scheduling of rooms with direct projections of opera, announced, Francesc Felipe, the man responsible for the cinemas in Girona.
Girona cinemas will debut with the idea of programming preferably "Catalan, Spanish and European original versions dubbed into Catalan" said Francesc Felipe.
The new idea was launched last night and opened to the public with Millennium 3-dubbed into Catalan-Cell, 211, 500 days together, in original version with subtitles in Castilian, and the movie The Condemned Cher Ami animation.
Former Casablanca Kaplan, which closed in April 2009, now has capacity for 650 people and is equipped with a digital projector and one for movies in 3D. The facilities have been completely refurbished, "only the original seat remain.
One of the members of the cinemas, Montserrat Guiu, has nearly closed a deal with a European cinema network dedicated to retrieving material and to produce a feature film of eighty minutes from short films from the Youtube network. Guiu has announced that Barcelona will be a pioneer in this initiative that is taking place in cinemas in the Netherlands, Germany and France.
Furthermore, Guiu was optimistic about the possibilities of digital cinema, "The digital era opens and gives the direct emotion" and noted that "a concert of your favourite singer in three dimensions is a 'flip'".
