German truck driver confesses to murder of Bulgarian prostitute in Girona

From El País: ‘German truck driver admits murders of three women in Spain’ | “A German truck driver, who was arrested in his home town of Hof at the request of Spanish authorities, has confessed to the murder of a Bulgarian prostitute in Hostalric, Gerona, and that of four more women.

According to the German public prosecutor, the 47-year-old driver, named as Volker E., committed the crimes between the years of 1999 and 2006. The man was arrested last Friday at the headquarters of the haulage company where he works in Wesseling in Cologne. He claims to have committed three murders in Spain, and two in France.

The body of the Bulgarian prostitute was discovered by a passer-by on November 3 of this year in the gutter of the local soccer pitch. The young woman was naked and showed signs of a violent death.

Volker was identified as the supposed perpetrator of the crime thanks to statements made by several of his colleagues, as well as security-camera images recovered from a nearby company.

When Catalan police investigated the case, they suspected that Volker might have been responsible for the death of an unidentified woman, whose body was found on March 1, 2005 in Sant Sadurní d’Osormort (Barcelona), after her photograph was found in his vehicle.

After his arrest, other murders with a similar modus operandi were investigated, particularly along the international routes that he traveled.”

The end of the story sounds really good and motivating. But the only thing that is creating question is by what means the criminal got provoked to confess its crime.Because this is generally not observed.
