Most deaths due to domestic violence in Spain occurred in Catalonia and Galicia

15 killed in Spain during first 100 days of 2007

Six fewer dead women than in 2006. Seems like good news. In reality, fifteen women have died at the hands of their partner or ex-partner. Fifteen women with names that have been shot, stabbed, had their throats slit or burned alive. Like last year, AND remembers the victims of the first 100 days of the year.

In 4 months the Law against Gender Violence has opened the first daily pages and has been one of the flags of president Zapatero and however, the death figures, although less, continue rising. It is tragic that those things happen to women and those men that do this should be punished correctly. Its a shame though that Spain, now sees all cases as 1 case, just as in our situation. We are crazy about eachother, love eachother enourmously and even have plans to get married next year, unfortunally, one night when we both went out, we got in an argumanent that because we both had to much to drink, ended up in 1 hit to her face, this happened only because I tried to snap her out of the freaky drunk situation she was in. To make a long story short, the hospital report didn´t show any wounds, nor did my girl wanted to let it go this far, but due to her not being sober and more or less was pushed to sign a statement, I got sentenced and now two people crzay in love with eachother are struggling to get through this perdode of not being able to be together.
But Spain, doesn´t listen, they just take each case as the same case. and there for also not real violence cases, are handled as real bad cases and that´s just not fair, for the both of us. Spain...get your courtcase in order....Please!
