PM José Luis Zapatero and Yorgos Papandreou renew desire for cooperation between Spain and Greece
Zapatero, as it is called in Greece the president of Spain by the same Papandreou and the Greek media, has the deep affection of the Hellenic Premier. The president of PASOK and the Greek premier welcomed the Spanish head of state, and spoke of "his friend Jose Luis Zapatero.
The Spanish head of government, much anticipated by the new Socialist government of Papandreou, arrived at the airport E. Benizeleos of the Greek capital.

Papandreou, dressed like his Spanish counterpart wore a red tie. And is not no secret of his admiration for Spain and his desire to follow the example of the Iberian nation and its autonomous communities in many ways. Sustainable development, renewable energy and urban planning of the Catalan capital, Barcelona, are some examples (targets) identified by Yorgos Papandreou in his speeches during his election campaign and now is in his first 100 days of office
Spanish language is one the most studied in Greece. The Spanish chief executive himself, in his statements to reporters, stressed that more and more Greeks want to learn Spanish: "I note with satisfaction that more and more Spanish come to Greece, and there are more Greeks who want to learn Spanish as we share a great historical tradition.

The Spanish Embassy is located beside the monument par excellence of classical antiquity, the Acropolis.
