Police raid the office of attorney Askatasuna Joseba Agudo, lawyer for Amnesty Movement for ETA prisoners
Civil Guard officers are searching the law firm spokesman in the town of Oiartzun Guipuzcoa, the search started at ten in the morning, by order of the High Court judge Fernando Grande Marlask, no arrests have been made.

The listed building was the former headquarters of Batasuna and now houses a law firm. One of the lawyers is Mancisidor Joseba Agudo, a lawyer from the Movement for amnesty for ETA prisoners and, indeed, undertook representation of this group in several press conferences. However, these searches could be related to the recent operation against the Batasuna leadership - headed by Judge Baltasar Garzon - who were arrested, Arnaldo Otegi and Diez Usabiaga, are among other 'nationalist' leaders to be organized under the name of 'Bateragune'.

Specifically, Mancisidor could be related to the 'Committee for Refugees' that make efforts to return Basque ETA members abroad. This lawyer was asked to read a statement in January 2007 at the Velodrome of Anoeta to advance the process that will "allow Euskal Herria to win their freedom".

In 2006, he also spoke at a rally in support of ETA prisoners when he claimed that six people fleeing from Spain and arrested in Mexico in 2003, for allegedly belonging to ETA, were tried in that country and not extradited to the Audiencia Nacional.

Sharp, who also was a member of the Bar Association of the Basque Country, was Askatasuna spokesman, whose activities were suspended in February 2002.
