The sale of electronic books (eBooks) increased by 500% in Spain in 2009
Regarding the estimates for this year, the electronic library is projected to increase in both the sale and extension of titles available in electronic format
The amazing figures are a result of the "remarkable" acceptance by Spanish publishers and consumers, according to the electronic library for the sale of TodoeBook eBooks.

TodoeBook, citing unofficial sources, estimates that in Spain there are currently more than 100,000 reading devices, this figure was "very important" when considering that a year ago the number was "negligible". Regarding the estimates for this year, the electronic library is projected to increase in both the sale and extension of titles available in electronic format. Specifically, the experts consulted by TodoeBook maintain that the eBook will be strengthened in areas of education and will become supplementary material in the medium term.
For TodoeBook’s executive director, Luis Francisco Rodriguez, the increase in sales of electronic content has been "very strong" for quite some years but the marketing of reading devices in Spain has made the sales become "exponential" This is reflected in the increase of publisher content available to the reader.
