The Spanish singer Luz Casal received the Medal of the Order of Art
In addition to congratulating her on his recent birthday, Mitterrand recalled the unquestionable moment that French hearts warmed to her songs happened nearly two decades ago with ‘Think of me’ from the film High Heels (1991), by Pedro Almodovar.
The award was received in France from the hands of Gallic Culture Minister, Frédéric Mitterrand, who defined her it as one of the greatest Spanish artists.
In addition to congratulating her on his recent birthday, Mitterrand recalled the unquestionable moment that French hearts warmed to her songs happened nearly two decades ago with ‘Think of me’ from the film High Heels (1991), by Pedro Almodovar.
Wearing her signature famous black dress and under the watchful eye of friends and journalists, Luz Casal thanked the French who "have always paid attention to musicians," noting that with this medal she feels "bound to France".
