National Police agents have arrested three people of Colombian origin for their alleged involvement in the death of a man whose remains appeared last April in the towns of Arroyomolinos (Madrid) and Talavera de la Reina (Toledo). Police said, limbs and a torso were found in April 2009 about 100 miles away and, apparently, belong to a man who was tortured and dismembered.
During the operation, the task of identifying the body was hampered by the absence of both the head as the phalanges of both hands. It was on April 3 when the first remains, namely an arm and a leg were found in a road in the town of Talavera de la Reina.
The next day, in a wooded area of the town of Arroyomolinos, the trunk of a man was found. On the torso were visible signs of torture, with tentative cuts, punctures and tears. Despite these difficulties, through scientific techniques officers determined that the remains belonged to the same person.
Following the finding, investigators began a voluminous collection of information about the victim and his life. However, the environment surrounding the suspects is characterized by secrecy and silence for fear of retaliation by criminal organizations engaged in drug trafficking.
However after about a year of investigation, police were able to identify and arrest those suspected in the death and dismemberment of the victim. There are three people of Colombian origin and residing in Azuqueca de Henares (Madrid). The first two were also charged with drug offences, as in searches a substantial amount of cocaine was found.
