England's hopes of winning the European Under 19 Championship were put to an end after being defeated 3-1 by a classy Spain side.
Showing glimpses of the quality that helped the senior Spanish team to World Cup glory this summer, Spain earned a place in the final thanks to goals from Daniel Pacheco, Keko and Sergio Canales.
Tottenham midfielder John Bostock netted a reply for England, whose Euro campaign was brought to an end in an exciting encounter.
Spain were quickly out of the blocks. Liverpool youngster Daniel Pacheco clinically converted a Canales cross to give them the lead after 12 minutes.
Captain Keko added another on the half hour. The midfielder started a move that emulated the passing movement of the senior side, before deftly finishing past England keeper Declan Rudd.
English hopes were restored three minutes later when Bostock fired a low, fizzing strike from the edge of the box.
But their efforts were in vain as Spain restored their two goal lead on 56 minutes.
Sergio Canales latched on to a brilliantly chipped Tiago Alcantara freekick and capped off a commanding display from the Spanish.
Spain are bidding to become the first team to hold the Senior and Under 19s European titles since France in 2000.
