José Císcar, said today in Javea on the inaugural meeting of the Young Architects-Planners Forum.
"We require a consensus in planning to stop being a wedge between the major parties," he said after explaining the broad lines of the so-called "Spatial Strategy" that drives the Generalitat Valenciana, and the consensus of the majority parties, "which will be the cornerstone of regional planning.

One model, he added, is based on the rational use of natural resources in a sustainable urban model, "so that regional planning and urban living not so that every town has its own planning and strategy.

Entitled "The current urban and regional restructuring", dozens of leading architects from around the Mediterranean are located in Jávea to analyze the past, present and future of urban planning in many places, such as Valencia. Mediterranean House director, Yolanda Parrado, stressed in her opening address that in addition to cultural and linguistic differences "the main divide between people of both sides are economic.

In this regard she added that "the future of the Mediterranean will be defined by the urban structure that we can create." In this regard "there has been rampant urbanization and landscape heritage has been lost. So we have to work at this through sustainable development that is socially just and which is manageable for both the north and the south".
